Carol has been training new stylists in hair extensions for over 30 years, establishing a formal academy in 1997 for students wishing to undertake a course while not employed by The Extension Shop.
In 2004 the academy expanded its course portfolio being able to offer select hair loss courses for students outside of the business. With some of the most significant experience in both hair extensions and hair loss in the UK Carol is well placed to maximise the potential of student's of varying qualification levels.
At present we are able to offer a full hair loss training programme or singular modules on a one to one basis. Generally the course is run on a full time basis taking approximately 7 weeks to complete. We can however if you wish adjust the course to a part time basis to complete around existing commitments.
Whether completing a full course or single module the course starts with a foundation theory day.
This day covers the following
-Scalp and hair anatomy
-Solutions for hair loss
-Client consultation, understanding and evaluating a clients requirements and performing a patch test
-Making a mould, fitting the hair system
-Attachment methods, application and removal
-Maintenance, clean and follow up.
The practical course element consists of the following modules,
-Full lace integration
-Hand tied wefts
-Wig making, covering the history of postiche, single knotting and preparing the raw hair.
The minimum qualification level to join the academy is Level 3 in hairdressing.
